Notes on Belonging to a Place

Common Lives in an Uncommon Landscape…

Attachment to place is something Lyman Hafen has been struggling to understand and express since he moved home to southern Utah more than three decades ago. It began with the inaugural edition of St. George Magazine in the spring of 1983, and has continued through the magazine’s more than 30-year history. Here, in the third book of the trilogy that started with IN THE SHADE OF THE COTTONWOODS and ON THE EDGE OF MEMORY, are more of Hafen’s writings on the place he loves and understands deeply.
